The Society of Typographic Aficionados (SOTA) and Building Letters announced the release of Fleurons of Hope, which is a collaborative typeface created to benefit victims of the December 26, 2005 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunamis. Fleurons of Hope was developed for Font Aid III, a project that united the international creative community to support relief efforts in the affected region. The Font Aid initiative continues.
Created the primary icon for the Fleurons of Hope, which was bundled with the “Building Letters: Tsunami Edition”, a magazine and CD of fonts donated by major foundries and independent designers. The lotus flower with deep roots symbolizes the strength and resolve demonstrated to fully recover from this devastating natural disaster.
