Launch Pad was a part of the Web 2.0 Conference run by CMP Media and O’Reilly Media. It provided a formal venue where new companies could pitch their ideas and innovations. The idea was to pass the test the scrutiny of venture capitalists, which is how the market determines who wins and loses in the world of startups. There was no fee for companies presenting, since the VCs are sponsoring the program.
CMP Media and O’Reilly Media needed a remarkable brand, marketing materials, and a web site design that could handle high-volume usage and sophisticated content. The Launch Pad logo, color palette, and typography had to work in tandem with high-end user experience of the Web 2.0 Conference. I collaborated with Management and Marketing Directors to develop strategies to support a comprehensive web-design that could also be incorporated into conference graphics.
