Tech TV
TechTV was a 24-hour cable and satellite channel based in San Francisco, California featuring news and shows about computers, technology, and the Internet. At the height of its six year run, TechTV was broadcast in 70 countries, reached 43 million households, and claimed 1.9 million unique visitors monthly to its website. Their focus was on personality-driven product reviews and technical support. This made it a cultural hub for technology information worldwide, still existing today online through its former hosts' webcasts, most notably the TWiT Network and Revision3.
Our Contribution
Typebox created a new name, identity, and brand strategy that would
set TechTV apart from its competition and function in print, on screen
and be animated. The new signature needed to reflect some of the company’s
core values and attributes; the messages of innovation, inquiry, and
technology. The channel's name had to also communicate these attributes.
Unlike any solution previously seen in their industry, the TechTV name
has recall and the visual results are bold and distinctive. The bold
circle was chosen for the symbol as it suggests strength and stability
while the connected dots that form the T suggest modernity and progressiveness.
The brand was also extended into a web site, marketing materials, and
television animations.
